SUNDAY THOUGHTS
This past weekend I went on pioneer Trek.
To say it was the greatest time would be a lie. The fact that I was going to be one of the oldest girls on Trek made me not so thrilled about the whole thing. Turns out it was super humbling and i'm glad it's something I did. I'm about to get all deep & spiritual here and express my gratitude through this blog.
So here it is.. Traveling to Martin's Cove made everything about the whole pioneer journey more real. After reading stories about the brave things the pioneers did, it was cool to actually be there and see things through my own eyes. Trek gave me a good perspective on life in general. The things we have to face today are very different than what the pioneers went through. I realized a few things worth sharing. Life is truly what we make it. Whether to be happy or miserable is our own choice. It's a choice we have to make every single day, and for me it is a hard one most of the time. Having a positive attitude about the little things really can change the course of your life. I want to be seen as a happy person and never want to be seen as the girl sitting out and not helping. So this is my goal.
I loved that every where I looked on Trek I saw people serving others. Having an autistic boy named Chester in my trek family, who sang frozen songs and laughed to himself every chance he got, brought my spirits up. He made me realize and know we are all are designed in our own way in our own time for a reason. Once we know who we are and where we came from the choices we make and the perspective we have will be more clear. I know we have a loving Heavenly Father who will help us every step of the way. Like the pioneers, I want to live a life of faith not fear.
Twas a happy trekking experience !
